Customer Experiences & Feedback

Why do we always get 5 star reviews on our private tours?

We have 15 years experience planning and providing private tours in Champagne. Our approach to each custom planned tour is to:
1. Develop an in-depth understanding of each client’s interests and needs within their time, budget, and location constraints.
2. Select the best visits from the over 50 vineyards we work with by not taking a commission for a vineyard visit.
3. Offer free concierge advice on local hotels and restaurants in Champagne as well as in Paris.
4. Provide unique experiences for all levels of wine knowledge whether a family visit with kids or sommeliers and vineyard owners looking for highly technical visits.
5. Work with many English speaking driver guides in Paris and Reims so during the busiest season we can match the right guide to the right client.

"More than a mere Tour"

I highly recommend The Champagne Tour Company if you are traveling to France. Larry will ensure you have smooth carefree transportation as well as unique winery experiences with the most knowledgeable guides. Larry also arranged fantastic lunches for us and accommodated our needs across several days. We received far more than just champagne tours!

"The Perfect day in Champagne"

My day in Champagne was all I hoped it would be and more. I would highly recommend The Champagne Tour Co to anyone who would like to get a taste of what the Champagne region has to offer. Jean Baptiste (JB) was my guide/driver for the day, and he made the experience absolutely fantastic. He picked me up at my hotel and whisked me to Reims. During the drive he was able to provide me with a lot of useful information that I didn't know about the region (and I thought I had done my research). He was engaging, knowledgeable, and very friendly. He made the day so much more enjoyable.

I had asked Larry to choose smaller, family houses for my tour and he did just that. I was thrilled that each house selected was very different from the others, so I was able to try a wide variety of champagnes during my day. I was very pleased with the quality of tastings offered and my cellar tour too. I was exactly what I had hoped for.

As a solo traveler, this was a bit of a splurge, but it was worth it! I was given a wonderfully relaxing tour of Champagne that suited my needs. I highly recommend The Champagne Tour Company and ask for JB!

"A full day tasting champagne at family vineyards"

I am so pleased I found this company to organise my champagne tour. I set Larry the challenge to help me understand the differences between Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, and he didn’t disappoint. We visited four family vineyards in a mix of Grand Cru and Premier Cru. I won’t list them here as the whole point of the using Larry’s services is getting the bespoke expertise. We had an all day 8 hour tour in our private mini bus with our guide Delphine who was a font of knowledge. We learned so much about champagne production, honed our preferences in grape, and purchased a few cases along the way. Larry also recommended and booked a beautiful restaurant in Épernay for my birthday lunch. A very special way to spend my actual 40th birthday. We made many, many memories this day.

"Champagne Trip"

"A little slow on review from September 2019 but the memories are still strong of such a wonderful tour. We selected for a two day tour of champagne houses including private at Dom Pérignon. We were greeted at the airport and had quick and easy travel to our hotel. We had a driver both days for multiple tours each day. The mix of types of champagne houses was awesome. I would highly recommend fall as its beautiful and we arrived during harvest. The tour was well planned, wonderful lunch day one, and transport to the train station to go to Paris. Really simple to make selections and book from the US and all went flawlessly when we arrived in France. Thank you for an amazing experience!!"

"Sensational Day through Champagne"

We had a spectacular day exploring Champagne- guided by Isabelle who was full of fun and passion for the area. On Larrys' recommendation we largely stuck to the smaller family houses and it was perfect- the champagne was unlike anything we had tried before. We definitely recommend the whole day- you need it to properly sample the area- and it means you can fit in an awesome lunch somewhere- accompanied by more champagne! I think we had both thought Champagne was a bucket list destination- visit once and its off the list, but we will be back to continue exploring and visiting different producers. Thank you Larry for organising it all and to Isabelle for your company knowledge!

"Custom day trip of Champagne Region"

While in Paris for a week, we wanted to spend a day out of the city seeing the Champagne region. None of our group of 4 were champagne experts, so we wanted a day where we could learn about the history and process of making Champagne, while also tasting champagne from both local producers as well as the major Champagne houses. Delphine was our guide for the day, and she was incredible! She grew up in the area and has worked with champagne her whole life, so she was able to teach us so much! She helped us learn what our preferences are for different types of champagne, while also teaching us about the process. During the day, we spent time in both Reims and Epernay, and visited 3 local producers and one of the major houses. Personally, our favorite visits were some of the smaller producers, but we're glad to say that we've tried both! We also stopped for lunch in Hautvillers and visited the Abbey there. Catching the train to and from Paris meant we got to spend a full day exploring the region, which was well worth the effort. Just be sure to give yourself some extra time to catch the train from Paris to Reims, we almost missed ours! Delphine made our day amazing, and I highly recommend you request her for your visit to the Champagne region!
