There are around 80 Champagne Houses of which about 25 can be visited split between international brands and smaller Houses. The most interesting and largest chalk cellars can be found at Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, Ruinart and Pommery.
In a single day you can visit a maximum of 2 cellars unless you extend the day and are lucky. We suggest one House visit Epernay and one in Reims if you decide on 2 Houses. Keep in mind travel time between them is about 30 - 40 mins each way. If you decide to visit only one then you will have then have time to visit 2 family estates.
Departing Reims you can discover the Premier and Grand Cru villages of Verzy, Verzenay, Bouzy, and Mailly in the Reims Mountains, known for Pinot Noir grapes, which provide structure and full bodied Champagnes even though all 3 grapes are grown here.
Departing Epernay discover Meunier Champagnes in the Marne Valley, Pinot Noir or visit the Cote de Blancs, and taste 100% Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay Champagnes.
